Bumblebee Farts

The other day I was going into the Dollar General (I get fake nails there so cheap because I do my own at home) and in front of the door wanting in was a bee. It made me think of the movie "You've Got Mail" where she talks about a butterfly getting on and off the subway and possibly buying a hat at Bloomingdales (I think it was Bloomingdales, correct me if I'm wrong).

I think if a bee were to go shopping at the Dollar General he might be looking for some soda and honey buns. I'm almost positive that all that junk food would give him gas.

Maybe he also picked up some GasX. Maybe he was just browsing. I don't know him personally, but he seemed very gentlemanly as I let him in the store.

None of this has anything to do with what I'm wearing which is a groovy vintage sweater and high waisted jeans. When do I ever talk about what I'm wearing anyway?

If you see a bumblebee out and about in Nashville waiting for a door, follow him in and see what he buys. I'm curious about the GasX.

Oktoberfest

This weekend the husband and I ventured out to the Nashville Oktoberfest in Germantown! If you like to eat the best tasting, artery clogging foods, and listen to some really amazing oompah oompah music this is the festival for you!

My bestie and her beau Tom, along with Stella the beautiful (see above) and our friend Greg came along and we really had an incredible time. There's lots to see (and buy) and me judging everyone's outfit choices people watching.

We ate, we drank, we were merry! Specifically Sherri and I did some horrible things to some turkey legs and destroyed a couple of funnel cakes on the way out. My arteries will not be thanking me later.

Red

I dyed my hair red. Just like every other brunette on earth in the fall, I put on the gloves, poured the sauce, and poisoned my scalp. I feel pretty good about it.

There is just something about a new hair color that makes me feel alive! Not just normal alive, but alive alive. Like something really cool is going to happen, or I might secretly be a super hero! If I were secretly a super hero, I would be mega angry about it. Like secretly I can fly and I never told anyone about it...not even myself??? What the heck? Maybe that's my super hero name; Mega Angry! Able to leap...to conclusions! It's a little mad, it's sorta upset, NO it's MEGA ANGRY!

I got a little off topic up there, but please don't call me out on it because you might make me angry. Trust me, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!

Cashes to Cashes

Yesterday the husband and I went to Hendersonville to the gravesite of Johnny and June Cash. We are both pretty nuts about Johnny Cash and the love story behind him and June, so this was a very cool experience.

Other than the fact that it was very wet and very cold, it was still one of the coolest things we've done/seen. And I might have cried a little. I don't want to talk about it.

After that we found the cutest little park on the river and stopped to feed the ducks and geese!

Now I am not typically a goose fan. They chase you and hiss and that is terrifying! It's one thing if a cat hisses at you because that is what they do, but a bird that hisses...That's what horror movies are made of! This goose was awesome though. I named him Turkey and he ate out of my hand and made me squeal like a 3 year old!

Things I was thinking while having the rest of these pictures taken:

  • It's cold.
  • If I lean back too far I will fall and bust my head open.
  • If I lean forward too far I might fall in.
  • There must be a ton of bird poop in this water.
  • Oh God there is a fountain and it blew on me! That's bird poop water I just inhaled!
  • It's cold.
Right about then I would have been happy to stand in a ring of fire.

Red, White, and Oz

It was unintentional for me to look like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, but when I was looking at these photos I realized I did bear a slight resemblance. Sure it's not a gingham dress, and my shoes aren't all sparkly and magic, but you still get the idea.

I wanted to do a post Sunday, but I didn't get to wear this on the 4th like I had planned since it rained all. day. long. We ended up spending the evening at Dave and Busters playing games and having a few drinks with friends! It was the BEST, but not exactly where I would want to wear this strappy little number.

I think these may be some of my favorite pictures! My husband is a genius when it comes to photography! He's like a photoshop wizard...Maybe he's from Oz too!

Winery Finery

We celebrated my wonderful friend Sherri's Birthday this weekend with a trip to Arrington Vineyards. What started out as a rainy day quickly turned into a beautiful, glorious afternoon full of friends, snacks, and of course a little wine!

We picked out a blackberry and raspberry wine to try that were insanely delicious! Then we snacked on hummus, pita chips, and cupcakes! It was pretty much perfect!

Here's the girls! Steph, Bri, me, and Sherri! D took the pics. He was such a good sport, and even played DJ for us on the way home!

There were a ton of people there, but it didn't feel overly crowded until you had to use the bathroom. There were two bathrooms in the wine tasting building. They were one toilet bathrooms. That is when I realized there was actually one hundred million people there.
We also happened to see a family taking some photos across the field from us, so we did what all normal civilized people would do and attempted to photobomb every single picture that we were in the background of. We got some stares, but mostly a lot of love from a group at a picnic table beside us. We laughed so hard it made the bathroom situation that much more dire. It was all totally worth it though.

Happy Birthday Sherbear! Here's to many many more wine drinking, laughter filled, pee inducing birthdays to come!
