Lets Makeup

I decided to do a beauty post since I haven't done one in a while and it's raining like crazy here with no sign of stopping. So here it is! This is a basic makeup look that I would do if I were just wanting to do a simple clean face.

I start out with Oil of Olay lotion and MAC foundation (I'll list all the products below with links) and then MAC mineral powder to set it.

A little blush and phase one is complete. It's probably super weird that I literally think of these steps as phases, but whatever.

Phase one. Boom.

On to phase two which is the final phase and the best phase. Yes I am aware that only having two phases seems unnecessary, but I have some makeup routines with three phases so you'll just have to deal with the two phases this time.

I typically use my Naked pallet here. It's. The. BEST.  I use a light shimmery color on my whole lid and up under my eyebrow and then a darker charcoal color in the crease. Make sure to blend really well so you don't look like a crazy person.

Next comes eyelash curling and mascara, which if I'm being honest could give you the look of a whole face of makeup by itself!

I finish it off with filling in my brows just a bit (still with the Naked pallet) and some Buxom plumping lip gloss!

Like I said, a simple clean face. Although it's technically not clean I guess. It's actually pretty gunked up, but it looks clean! Products are below!

-H

Shadow: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (I used Booty Call for the whole lid and Pistol for the crease with Blackout in my brows)
Gloss: Buxom (My fave is Sandy)
Little Pink Godsend: Beauty Blender (Well worth every single cent. Trust me on this one.)

Green Water

I can't promise that this post will be even remotely coherent because I am high on Benadryl at the moment trying to combat the horrific war going on in my sinus cavity. It's not cool. Also not cool is the color of the water behind me.

That water is straight up dyed green. Why? Why would you dye water like that? It's so weird! What if a white duck goes into that water? They would come out with a green butt! I have never seen a green butted duck, but I can assure you if I do it's not natural and probably came from this pond.

Other than having horrible allergies, I have spent the week doing the following things:
  1. Wondering if you can get rabies from a pig.
  2. Eating Chic-Fil-A Salads so much that we actually got a special Chic-Fil-A-List card. (No that is not a joke. It is literally called the Chic-Fil-A-List.)
  3. Googling Pig Rabies
  4. Reading old notes from High School that my husband found in storage.
  5. Having a nose bleed and wondering if that is a symptom of pig rabies.
I might have overreacted to the pig bite just a little.

I also bought purple lipstick. It's MAC Heroine to be exact and I love it.

Can ducks get rabies?

Fall Favorites

Sometimes I like to take a break from nonsense and talk about fashion. Since this is a fashion/style blog I think it's only fitting. I pulled together some of my favorite Fall styles so that we can drool over them together! I love interesting shapes and neutral colors with little pops of floral and lace! I've linked them below so you can even stop drooling and buy them if you want! Aren't I so nice tempting you like that? Enjoy!

2. Barra Boots - Aldo (I love that these are an almost identical dupe for the Stewart Weitzman Lowland boot which I am dying for! And at a fraction of the price!)

Pig Attack

I was mauled by a pig recently...this is my story...

It was a day like any other except for the fact that I live in the city and I was going to be spending a few hours on a farm with my best friend going on hay rides and picking out pumpkins. Totally the norm.

We were having the best time. We frolicked. We sat on hay. We saw cows, and goats, and Satan's pink children!!! I think you know who I am talking about...

This was before he took me into his snotty snorty clutches of evil and bit. my. finger!!! WHAT THE HECK MAN??? I always loved those little guys! He turned on me. I guess I did taste oddly like pumpkin and hay, so I figure I might have had it coming.

Either way we had an excellent time. Sherri took the photos of me and did a fabulous job! I love her face almost as much as that pig loved my finger.

Stupid pig.

Bumblebee Farts

The other day I was going into the Dollar General (I get fake nails there so cheap because I do my own at home) and in front of the door wanting in was a bee. It made me think of the movie "You've Got Mail" where she talks about a butterfly getting on and off the subway and possibly buying a hat at Bloomingdales (I think it was Bloomingdales, correct me if I'm wrong).

I think if a bee were to go shopping at the Dollar General he might be looking for some soda and honey buns. I'm almost positive that all that junk food would give him gas.

Maybe he also picked up some GasX. Maybe he was just browsing. I don't know him personally, but he seemed very gentlemanly as I let him in the store.

None of this has anything to do with what I'm wearing which is a groovy vintage sweater and high waisted jeans. When do I ever talk about what I'm wearing anyway?

If you see a bumblebee out and about in Nashville waiting for a door, follow him in and see what he buys. I'm curious about the GasX.

Oktoberfest

This weekend the husband and I ventured out to the Nashville Oktoberfest in Germantown! If you like to eat the best tasting, artery clogging foods, and listen to some really amazing oompah oompah music this is the festival for you!

My bestie and her beau Tom, along with Stella the beautiful (see above) and our friend Greg came along and we really had an incredible time. There's lots to see (and buy) and me judging everyone's outfit choices people watching.

We ate, we drank, we were merry! Specifically Sherri and I did some horrible things to some turkey legs and destroyed a couple of funnel cakes on the way out. My arteries will not be thanking me later.

Red

I dyed my hair red. Just like every other brunette on earth in the fall, I put on the gloves, poured the sauce, and poisoned my scalp. I feel pretty good about it.

There is just something about a new hair color that makes me feel alive! Not just normal alive, but alive alive. Like something really cool is going to happen, or I might secretly be a super hero! If I were secretly a super hero, I would be mega angry about it. Like secretly I can fly and I never told anyone about it...not even myself??? What the heck? Maybe that's my super hero name; Mega Angry! Able to leap...to conclusions! It's a little mad, it's sorta upset, NO it's MEGA ANGRY!

I got a little off topic up there, but please don't call me out on it because you might make me angry. Trust me, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!

Cashes to Cashes

Yesterday the husband and I went to Hendersonville to the gravesite of Johnny and June Cash. We are both pretty nuts about Johnny Cash and the love story behind him and June, so this was a very cool experience.

Other than the fact that it was very wet and very cold, it was still one of the coolest things we've done/seen. And I might have cried a little. I don't want to talk about it.

After that we found the cutest little park on the river and stopped to feed the ducks and geese!

Now I am not typically a goose fan. They chase you and hiss and that is terrifying! It's one thing if a cat hisses at you because that is what they do, but a bird that hisses...That's what horror movies are made of! This goose was awesome though. I named him Turkey and he ate out of my hand and made me squeal like a 3 year old!

Things I was thinking while having the rest of these pictures taken:

  • It's cold.
  • If I lean back too far I will fall and bust my head open.
  • If I lean forward too far I might fall in.
  • There must be a ton of bird poop in this water.
  • Oh God there is a fountain and it blew on me! That's bird poop water I just inhaled!
  • It's cold.
Right about then I would have been happy to stand in a ring of fire.
